Day 1 Nairobi to Borana Conservancy

You’ll be picked up from Nairobi and transferred by flight to Borana Airstrip’ll reach camp in time for lunch.

Borana is a pristine wildlife conservancy on the northern slopes of Mount Kenya, offering breathtaking views of its snow-capped peaks to the south and the rugged Mathews Range to the north. The conservancy is home to large numbers of rhino, and seeing these prehistoric giants from the back of a horse is truly unforgettable.

Day 2 Borana Conservancy Exploration

Spend a full day exploring the wildlife-rich Borana Conservancy on horseback and by vehicle, with a picnic lunch along the scenic Ngare Ndare River. Borana is known for its high concentration of big cats, giving you a real chance to spot lions, leopards, and cheetahs from the back of a horse.

Perched atop an escarpment, the conservancy offers spectacular scenery, combining sweeping plains with distant mountain views. Borana is also home to your hosts, Nicky and Michael Dyer, who personally manage and run this exceptional wildlife sanctuary.

Day 3 & 4 Lolldaiga Ranch

Today is our first moving day, as we ride westwards with a picnic lunch.  We cross Ole Naishu and onto Lolldaiga, winding past large Kopje’s interspersed with cedar forest, before reaching Lolldaiga North Camp.

From this camp we will enjoy two days of spectacular riding in the northern areas of the ranch, exploring up into the hills and valleys which harbour elephant and buffalo.

At one point we shall be on the western edge of the Lolldaiga Hills with spectacular views over the Laikipia Plateau below, where we shall traverse over the coming days.

Day 5 & 6 Lolldaiga Ranch

This morning, you’ll set out from camp and ride south across the stunning ranch and conservancy, discovering hidden valleys and scenic trails along the way. Lolldaiga Ranch spans 55,000 acres and is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most beautiful private estates.

By afternoon, you’ll arrive at your camp nestled at the head of a picturesque valley, surrounded by fragrant cedar forests, where you’ll stay for the next two nights.

Day 7 El Karama Ranch

Today is a moving day as we ride through a hidden valley, following elephant and buffalo tracks and passing small dams, on our way to Enasoit Conservancy, another private sanctuary. From there, we continue onto the specialist cattle ranch of Mogwooni Ranch Nanyuki River.

After lunch, we ride on to El Karama Conservancy, where we’ll spend the next two nights.

Day 8 El Karama Ranch Full Day Exploration

Spend a full day exploring the 13,000-acre El Karama Conservancy on horseback and by vehicle, with the option of a guided game walk along the river before lunch. The conservancy is home to a fascinating mix of wildlife, including Grevy’s zebra, the rare endemic Jackson’s hartebeest, elephants, giraffes, and hippos in the river.

El Karama is also home to the world-renowned wildlife sculptor Murray Grant—visiting his studio offers a unique insight into his incredible work and connection to the landscape.

Day 9 Departure Day - Back To Nairobi

Wake up in time to pack and enjoy a full English breakfast in camp before you game drive to the airstrip and fly back to Nairobi at approximately 11am.  You will arrive back into Nairobi at midday, allowing plenty of time to reach your onward destination.
